  1. Hello, Thank You Very Much. I repair electronics for a living and HiFi engine is locking me out after 10 downloads. They didn’t even tell me they were doing this. I downloaded an instruction manual by accident, and I went to get the schematic and it told me that I can’t download for a month!

Would there be a way at any point in the future to get this stuff on Blu-Ray discs, so that you could save bandwidth. I actually contacted HiFi engine about this last year because they kept giving me server down errors. I work for a company that is one of two or three repair shops in a 500 mile radius. HiFi engine had been complaining that people keep creating ghost accounts to download large amounts of files. I had suggested that the way to resolve this was to give them what they want. Their so called hackers were just people trying to mirror the page, and that was the reason they were doing that. People want schematics. And often times, people download multiples of files for “cobble” units like the Sansui 5000, 5000A. 5000X as they are like Revox A77 Taoe recorders, you have to check which boards you actually have! Anyway, you can save bandwidth by offering the site on media with a donation of……

Anyway, you have a great thing going here. I will send you donations as I appreciate your efforts.

  2. Thanks for the kind words.
You are not the first to wonder about HIFI Engine’s paranoid behavior, and I also don’t understand why HIFI Engine acts as if they have exclusive rights to audio schematics and service manuals. I have repaired Hifi myself for over 45 years, and this site started in 2004 as my repository for an increasing number of schematics. It has been freely available to EVERYONE over the years, and it will continue to be so as long as people like you support it – either through donations or by sharing new schematics.
There are many solutions available to prevent abuse, and I have successfully implemented some of them myself.
Unfortunately, I don’t think there will be solutions for larger collective downloads such as Blueray. Please remember that this is just a “private” collection, shared with all other like-minded people. My time should be spent doing hifi repairs – not developing software/website solutions…..
    Thanks for your support
